JUNIOR FOOTBALL ROUND-UP: IN THE North Valley League, Rishton United won 1-0 against Brierfield Celtic Blue - but were lucky to get the points.

Rishton keeper Danny Cobbold was MOTM and did well to keep it goalless at half-time. Hayden Walker blazed a penalty over the bar after the break and, in the last minute, Matt Aspinall fired home from 20 yards.

In the Accrington and District Junior Football League, the Under 10s lost 4-2 to Haslingden. Rishton, missing players, were three-nil down before they battled back to make it 4-2.

The Under 11s lost 6-0 to Pendle Forest White in their last game of the season. Liam Clough worked tirelessly up front and MOTM Danny Cobbold who kept the score down with some top class saves.

The Under 12s were 5-0 winners over Whalley. Top scorer Ryan Cothliff picked up a through ball from Keiran Higham and placed the ball past the goalkeeper. Jack Goggins got the second before Charlie Feeney found Higham to make it 3-0 at half-time. Alister Lofthouse made it four after the break from 25 yards while fellow defender Jack Wolstenholme cracked the fifth goal home from distance.

The Under 16s lost 4-1 to Great Harwood.

ST JOSEPH'S: The Under 14s finished their season in fine form, beating Ross-endale Valley 1-0. Jacob Clarke converted a cross from Connor Southward to score the winner. For the Saints, Thomas Ainsworth and Liam Richmond were a constant threat while defenders Zak Graham and Stephen Ashworth held Rossendale at bay.

HUNCOAT UNITED: The Under nines won the league title in their first season following a 1-0 win over MIll Hill Blue. They played 20 games, winning 19 and losing only one. A title won through the hard work of Mark Thelwell and Colin Hall and great teamwork from the boys.

The Saturday Under 10s won 4-1 against Wilpshire Wanderers in their final home game of the season. The prolific Henry Hindle opened latched onto a pass from Joel Fox before unleashing the ball into the net.  The second came when Callum Boyle hit a sweet strike from outside the box. Wilpshire got one back before Hindle turned on the half volley and struck his shot home. Boyle added his second and Huncoat’s fourth, arriving late in the box and sliding past the keeper. Referee’s MOTM was Dylan Liddle while Manager’s MOTM was Henry Hindle.

The Under 10 Badgers won 8-0 against Belthorn United to be crowned champions of the yellow league. They were dependent on other results - they needed Great Harwood to draw with Blackburn United - and it all went to plan for them The Badgers have gone all season undefeated and scored 108 league and cup goals withonly 16 against.  Max Verlander opened the scoring before Lewis Eccles made it two. Verlander took his tally to four before Dylan Liddle lobbed the keeper to make it 6-0 at half-time. Liddle netted the seventh with a good finish from Verlander’s pass and Huncoat completed the rout when Liddle set Verlander up for his fifth goal. Verlander got the opposition MOTM while Callum Boyle got the Manager’s MOTM. Tom Sumner was given the captains performance for his all-round contribution to the game.

The Under 11s drew 1-1 with Rossendale Valley Yellow while they also lost 6-0 to Pendle Forest White.

The Under 12s lost 5-0 to Clitheroe Wolves but bounced back with a 5-4 win over Barrowford Celtic. Celtic led 1-0 at half-time but Huncoat got back into it with a James Kelly goal. Barrowford made it 2-1 and soon extended it to 3-1 at half-time. Kelly, however, scored two after the break to get it back level before Leighton Heys put Huncoat ahead. Kelly finished off the scoring by smashing the fifth into the net. MOTM James Kelly.

The Under 14s won 6-2 against Pendle Forest White while they then won 3-0 against Rishton United.

Elsewhere, the Under 12s drew 1-1 with Wilpshire Wanderers. Ryan Cothliff opened the scoring while Jack Goggins fired over the bar as Rishton couldn’t take their chances.

The Under 15s drew 5-5 with Oswaldtwistle FC. Liam McNulty scored four goals and Elliott Kinder the other as they were 5-2 ahead - but Oswaldtwistle came back. MOTM was keeper Scott Corbett.

CHURCH: The Under 11s drew 1-1 at Rossendale Valley Yellow in their penultimate game of the season.  Against the run of play, Church conceded late in the first half. But Church got their reward when midfielder Lewis Southward smashed home a half volley.  Church then pushed for a winner with Josh Graham, Tomas Smith and Aurie De Carteret all going close. Joint Manager’s MOTM’s were Sam Tonge and Lewis Southward.
