ACCRINGTON defender Phil Edwards is full of admiration for Fulham's record buy Andy Johnson - but he is hoping to make him unhappy.

The 23-year-old is an Everton fan and cheered striker Johnson on many times before his switch - which could rise to £13m - to Fulham, who Accrington face on Saturday in the FA Cup.

"I am an Evertonian and Andy Johnson has made me happy a few times scoring against Liverpool for Everton but now I want to make him unhappy - I can't wait to test myself against him," said Edwards.

The Stanley man, who has a host of scouts watching him due to some outstanding performances for the Reds, admits its a huge game with the club looking at a massive cup upset and £90,000 prize money if they can see off the top flight outfit.

"It's the biggest game of my career against a Premier League club and it's one of the biggest game's in the club's history," cbntinued Edwards, with a full house expected at the Crown Ground.

"Everyone is really excited. They will take one look at our surroundings and the changing rooms and think 'what are we doing here' but we have to take advantage of that and I think they will be surprised by the system we play and we will be out to rough them up a bit."

Edwards admits the club are in dreamland after nearly going out of business in November due to a £308,000 tax bill.

"I can't believe what has happened at our club - a couple of months ago we were fearing for our jobs and now we are looking to make history and get Accrington into the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time ever," he added.
