ACCRINGTON Stanley are one of the 41 Football League clubs who have been awarded the ‘Football League Family Excellence Award’ for 2008/09.

The award is given to clubs following two "mystery shopper" visits in which a family attends a match day at the stadium as both home and away fans.

Marks are given for every aspect of the match day experience from dealing with an initial telephone enquiry to how they are treated at the end of the game.

Stanley chief executive Rob Heys said: "The credit must go to all who work at Accrington Stanley on a match day for putting in so much hard work and ensuring that we are a friendly and welcoming club."

Burnley were one of the clubs in the Championship with 10 clubs in League Two including Stanley’s neighbours Bury, Morecambe and Chester.
