FORMER Stanley favourite Rory Prendergast has joined League Two strugglers Rochdale from Blackpool.

Winger Prendergast, 27, has agreed a 12-month contract with Dale, who are currently in the bottom two of the division, two points behind Stanley with a game in hand.

Prendergast made 70 Conference appearances in his three seasons with the Reds, netting 11 goals, before joining the Seasiders in July 2005, where he started 25 games, but had not figured since October.

Rochdale have also agreed a deal with Morecambe to sign England non-league international midfielder David Perkins. The 24-year-old was eyed by John Coleman last year as a possible transfer target.
