YOUNG golfer Jordan Hazlehurst announced himself to Great Harwood Golf Club in spectacular fashion - with one of the lowest scores in the golf club’s history.
The 13-year-old was playing in only his second competition and his round of 94-40-54 won the Noel Robinson Trophy by an amazing 16 shots.
However, it will be more difficult for him to repeat this fantastic score because he will start the next competition 15 shots worse off after having his handicap slashed to just 25.
And Jordan does have other juniors hot on his heels. After Jordan’s nett 54, Carl Smith returned with a remarkable nett 60. And not to be outdone by the boys Emily Haworth carded a 61.
* GREAT Harwood golfer Jordan Kellett got it spot on when he grabbed a hole-in-one.
The 12-year-old, whose handicap is 16, was having a go at the par three sixth hole on his home course.
And the Accrington Academy pupil was celebrating as it went straight in during a Junior Knock-out competition.
"He couldn’t believe it," said he dad. "He came running into the club house to tell us."
Jordan has been playing golf for four years and is already amassing the prizes, winning the club’s junior singles knock out and doubles last year.
"He is crazy about all sports and just loves playing golf," added his dad
