THE Hyndburn Borough cricket squad will play in the Lancashire Schools Cricket Association competition again after not taking part in the last few years.

Many top class cricketers throughout the country have passed through was is more commonly known as the "town team".

The Hyndburn Cricket Development Group and the Sport and Community Development at Hyndburn Leisure Services has joined forces to help the borough's talented youngsters on their way.

Secretary of the group, Lee Boyer said: "This is a special landmark in the progress of cricket in the borough and is a testament to the excellent work our clubs in Hyndburn do. The squads are now ready to showcase their talents to the rest of the county."

The squads are at Under 13 and 15 level. The Under 13s will make their bow at home to Rossendale on 27 May. The trials will be held at Church CC on Thursday 20 May at 6pm. All nominated have been sent letters

The Under 15s start in the Ainsworth Trophy against Burnley at Great Harwood CC on Friday 21 May (4.15pm start).
