WHINNEY HILL: After five consecutive defeats, Whinney Hill rediscovered their early season form to beat Millom 5-0 in the West Lancashire League. Sean Bursnell scored two with Noel Grimshaw, Mark Beard and Danny Lee getting the others. Hill's "40th Anniversary celebrations" will be held tomorrow at Poplar WMC featuring the Accy Rockers. Past and present players are invited to attend. The club will also be happy to see any old photos and memorabilia. BAXENDEN VILLA: The Under 11s bounced back with a 4-0 win against Akzo Juniors. Captain Ben Swindells pulled the strings with an excellent midfield display and won both manager's and referee's MOTM awards. Andrew Masterson was a constant threat and opened the scoring from close range. Masterson scored again before half-time. Swindells scored early in the second half and then scored the best goal of the game, chipping the ball over the goalkeeper following an excellent cross from Jordan Schofield. Andrew Bridge and Simon Marsden were excellent in defence with Simon earning the supporters' MOTM award. The under 14s continued their winning ways with a 5-1 win against Rossendale Valley. Twin strikers Arron McCarthy and Toby Bulcock were unstoppable scoring two goals each with Toby winning the manager's and referee's MOTM and Arron winning the supporters vote. Callum Clayton-Grimshaw capped a fine right wing display with the remaining goal. The Under 12s had no game this week.

HUNCOAT UNITED: The Under 16s beat Arden Hall Juniors 4-0. Danny McKenzie scored twice with Ricky Whittaker and referee's MOTM Danny King scoring the others. The Under 10 (Red) celebrated a 15-0 win over Barnoldswick Barons (Blue). Just about the whole team scored and the MOTM was Brynley Hargreaves. The Under 8s won 3-2 defeating Foulridge Minors. Goals from Camram Khan, Jordan Barry and MOTM Dalton Catterall.

OSWALDTWISTLE JUNIORS FC: Ossy Under 10s Blue won 4-0 over Wilpshire and consolidated their position at the top of the league. Lewis Ledger scored twice with Brendan Livesey and MOTM Matthew Challoner getting the others. The Under 10s Red lost 2-1 to Ossy Rangers. Ossy Juniors opened the scoring through Aiden Smith before Rangers came back. MOTM was keeper Matthew Moore. The Under 12s lost 3-1 to St Josephs. Danny Metcalf scored from the penalty spot. Manager's MOTM was Danny Dwyer. The Under 13s were defeated 4-3 by Hasingden. They were 2-0 down at half-time and fought back to lead 3-2. However they were denied victory by two goals in the last minutes. MOTM went to keeper Steven Stokes. The Under 15s were beaten by top of the table Borrowdale. HUNCOAT UNITED: The Under 9s beat Great Harwood Tigers 4-1 in the Accrington and District League on Saturday. Josh Roberts scored the first goal, followed by a Jack Johnstone header. Harwood pulled one back before Huncoat stepped up a gear through Thomas Shaw and Callum Carter. MOTM (refs): Josh Roberts. Details from www.huncoatunited.com . The Under 9s scored 11 on Sunday in the North Valley League defeating Barnoldswick Barons 11-0. Jack Johnstone scored the first goal within a minute. KNUZDEN YOUTH: The Under 12s lost out 7-5 to second placed Ossy Rangers in a 12-goal thriller in the VMI Accrington and District League. Jamie McKay (2), Nathan Davies, Sam Clarke and Ricky McGrew were the scorers. MOTM: midfielder Jimmy Roberts. The Under 13s lost 6-0 to Akzo. The Under 16s defeated AC Blackburn 12-2. Goals went to MOTM Liam MacMillan (4), Dale Bullen (3), Javid Abed, Chris Nuttall, Liam Bagley (2) and Anthony Beddows. Knuzden Under 17s and Senior side had no games this weekend.

OSWALDTWISTLE VILLA: On Saturday, in the VMI Accrington and District Boys League, the Under 15s defeated Nelson 2-0 with both goals coming from Lee Smith. The team weren't at full strength due to town team duties and illness. On Sunday, in the McDonalds and Hyndburn League, they defeated Brierfield Celtic 6-1, with Danny Pilkington scoring four and Carl Stephenson grabbing two.
