GREAT Harwood Town travel to Nelson tomorrow (saturday) to face the side now managed by their own former boss Dennis Underwood.

Although very few players remain at the Showground from Underwood's reign, new manager John Hughes having effected a bit of a clear-out, there are inevitably a number of ex-Town boys in the Nelson squad who have followed their old boss to Victoria Park. Sean Bursnall, Steve Pickup and Jamie Smith could all be part of their line-up tomorrow.

And while Harwood Town have been struggling of late, Nelson are unbeaten since Underwood took over.

The former Robins manager said: "I still speak to John Hughes and other people at Harwood, there was no fallling out of any kind, it had just run its course when I left. Harwood have been good to me in allowing me to take a couple of players."

"As far as I'm concerned tomorrow's match is just another game of football but I'm sure the ex-Harwood lads will want to put on a good display."

John Hughes, who has a full squad to choose from tomorrow, said: "It will be good to see Dennis again, not that we haven't been in touch quite a bit regarding players! It will be a good contest for both sides tomorrow.

"We have been knocked out of all the cups and can't win the league but but we have just got to knuckle down and try to upset a few clubs lying higher in the table than we are. Tomorrow will be the first time in three months that I will have had a full hand to choose from so we are hoping for a period of stability."

Hughes was hoping to complete the signing of a young player from the Warrington area.
