TEENAGE pool sensation Jack Dady has received an England call-up.

The 16-year-old has been selected to play for the England Under 18 pool team after a number of impressive performances.

Jack finished fifth in Lancashire after competing over the last few months against the likes of Cheshire, Manchester, Merseyside and North and Yorkshire and building up points.

The top eight from each region then played at Great Yarmouth and he was up against 63 other players.

But Jack, who also plays for the Alma Pub in Baxenden, managed to finish a brilliant third - and the top four got the England call and he will make his international debut tomorrow in a friendly clash in Worcester.

And the following Saturday night Jack, who works at Footloose in Clayton, hopes to be right on cue when he returns to Great Yarmouth to take part in the Youth World Championships.

"You can only compete in these championships if you are in the England team so it is the first time for Jack," said proud dad John.

"It will be very tense but he does seem to cope well with the pressure.

"It would be great if he could do it."

Not only is he a dab hand at pool but Jack has reached the quarter-finals of the Accrington Observer Snooker Trophy.
