HYNDBURN Under 13s hope to be crowned county champions tomorrow (Sat) when they face the Ribble Valley in the Lancashire Cricket District Final.

The final will take place at Clitheroe Cricket Club with a 12pm start.

Hyndburn had a good win in their semi-final against Lancaster.

Batting proved difficult on a tricky wicket with Matt Lambert, Levi Wolfenden (13), Ben Swindells and Joe Hornsby out early on.

Captain Danny Metcalf was next to go, with 17, quickly followed by Hassan Ali Fazaal leaving Hyndburn on 72-7. They only managed 18 more runs before being bowled out for 90.

Lancaster looked in charge as they moved to 40-1 when Metcalf was introduced into the attack. He took a wicket with his fourth ball with a good catch by Faasal Hussain.

This brought Hyndburn to life and they were rewarded with the third wicket with the score on 59, Wolfenden was the bowler.

Despite Lancaster still looking favourites, needing just 32 from 17 overs, Metcalf took the fourth and fifth wickets. Faazal then got a couple of wickets for only four runs, but Lancaster were moving closer to their target on 85-7, needing just six runs off 42 balls. Swindells though then came on and took two wickets for no runs.

Wolfenden was recalled and claimed the last Lancaster batsman to guide Hyndburn into the final.
