FOUR athletes from Hyndburn Athletic Club were crowned county champions at the Lancashire County Track and Field Championships.

Leigh Lennon took gold in the under-15 girls 800m, while training partner Robbie Schofield did the same for the under-15 boys.

Lauren Grime threw her way to the junior women's title in the hammer, while Nicola Breaks won the triple jump for the junior women.

The silver medals went to Nick Rawcliffe, who finished second in the 110m hurdles for senior men, Caroline Smithson in the 200m junior women, Sophie Hart in the under-17 women's long jump and Imogen Walters in the under-17 women's shot. Damian Rawlciffe won silver in the under-17 men's 400m hurdles, Sean Williams was runner-up in the under-17 men's 3000m and Maisie Bonney won silver in the under-15 girls' 800m.

The bronze medallists were Vikki Grime in the senior women's hammer, Nick Rawcliffe in the 400m hurdles, Catherine Dudbridge in the junior women's 800m and Imogen Walters in the under-17 women's discus.

Claire Mitchell took home a hat-trick of bronze medals in the 400m hurdles, shot and 100m hurdles, while sprinter Stephen Sumner finished with two third places in the junior men's 100m and 200m as Hyndburn came away with an impressive haul of 20 medals.
