OSWALDTWISTLE Immanuel Cricket Club have secured the services of 22-year-old Wesley Morrick as their professional for 2003.

The New Lane club will have the South African in their ranks as they begin their 10th campaign as a Ribblesdale Senior League side. A right-arm opening bowler and left handed middle-order batsman, Morrick has an ancestral British passport.

He has played for Oxfordshire club Aston Rowant for the past three seasons and in 2002 he took 73 wickets at an average 0f 12.19 and also scored 649 runs at 42.93. Originally from Natal he now plays his cricket for Cape Town University in Western Province.

Morrick is also a qualified ECB Level II coach.

Immanuel have lost the services of Nicholas Payne and Chris Maudsley who have joined Read and Church respectively and another talented youngster, Joel Byrom, is likely to be seldom available as he makes his way through Blackburn Rovers' junior ranks.

Any senior players interested in joining the club would be welcome to attend nets at Mount Carmel from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on Thursday evenings.
