THE girls football team from Mount Pleasant Primary School in Clayton were given a free two-hour training session by FA qualified coaches from Accrington Stanley.

Mount Pleasant were chosen from various clubs and schools who entered a competition to explain why they thought they would benefit from a free coaching session.

The girls team wrote with many reasons why they were the ideal choice.

Stanley's Commercial manager Karen Fazackerley said: "We had many entries but Mount Pleasant did stand out especially when it was written by the children themselves.

"Accrington Stanley realises the importance of womens and girls football in today's game and creating a relationship with local schools is just the beginning."

The girls got a chance to show off their skills at half-time of last Saturday's game with Stevenage.
