THERE have been more suggestions for Accrington's "Hall of Fame".

Raymond Clark is aiming to honour Accrington's sporting greats by setting up a "Hall of Fame" in, he hopes, Hyndburn Sports Centre.

It is only in the planning stages but Raymond is asking for help with names who could be added to the list.

Along with the ones mentioned in last week's Observer, the following have been suggested:

From football, there's former Stanley footballer Mark Brennan, who played for Ipswich and Man City; ex-Burnley and Stanley player Ashley Hoskin and Dave Hargreaves, Accrington's leading goalscorer of all time.

There is also current England goalkeeper Rachel Brown, who attended St Christophers High School.

From snooker, there's Accrington professional Shokat Ali.

And, in judo, Sami Smithson won judo titles at junior and senior level including a silver medal at the European team championships. She has also competed for team GB at various events over the past five years. And Phil Smithson is 10 times national judo medallist and was British champion in 1992. He has won many medals and titles over the past 30 years.

Meanwhile, Garth Dawson has offered to provide the frames for the "Hall of Fame" while Hyndburn's Sports Development Office have also got involved.
