TEENAGE golf sensation Nikki Foster is following in the footsteps of her father, Trevor.

The 15-year-old Accrington Golf Club member has been selected to play for Lancashire.

Nikki will represent Lancashire Ladies in the Northern Counties Match Week at Eaglescliffe, Durham from next Monday.

This is the first time Nikki has been selected for the A team, although she has played for the B team and the Lancashire Girls team.

The St Christopher's High School pupil has only been playing golf for four years and has already had great success - she won the Lancashire Ladies Silver Salver at Southport and Ainsdale, was a semi-finalist in the North of England Close Ladies Championship at Arcott Hall and at the English Under 15 Championship at Kidderminster in the final round shot a 69 gross, 4 under par.

Trevor who has 108 caps for Lancashire, won two Lancashire Championships in 87 and 90, the Lancashire Open Championship in 86, Qualified to play in the 'Open Championship' at Royal Lytham in 88 - and famously led it at one point - and won the Northern Order of Merit in 88.

Nikki and her family would like to thank Mr Coates, the Head of St Christopher's HS, and all the staff for their help and support over the last few years.
