A JUBILANT Great Harwood Panthers Under 9s side won the league title with a game to spare.

The talented youngsters have played 17 Blackburn and Darwen Junior Football League games - and won them all.

They fulfilled their ambition to not drop a point with a 5-0 win over Blue Star.

With no draws or losses, the delighted players who have been together since Under 7s and are sponsored by Kenley Haulage and Distribution, celebrated goals from their top scorer Karl Sutton who scored during the first half bringing his total to 16. Arron Phillipson put two in the back of the net bringing his total to 15, Bradley Allen also added top the first-half score taking his season total to 11, and Aaron McGahey also added to the final score.

During the season all the players have contributed in the goal-scoring stakes with the exception of goalkeeper Joshua Morris. "It has been a real team effort," said manager Nigel Sutton.

They train at the JJB Soccerdome every Friday from 6-7pm.
