RISHTON came off best in the local derby against Enfield on Saturday despite a stunning display from Keith Barker.

Barker, a highly-rated striker in Blackburn Rovers' Academy, can only turn out for the Dill Hall Lane side once the football season is over but he made a huge impact.

The teenager took 5-72 to restrict Rishton to 167. Andy Bartley top scored with 37 while, lower down the order, Sam Hacking made an important 31.

In reply, Barker made 73 - with 11 boundaries - before he was run out but the rest of the side failed to support him as they continued their poor run. Rishton pro James Franklin celebrated 5-17.

Church, meanwhile, are still on a roll - but they needed a vital 42 from pro Ruven Peiris, who smashed a window with one four, to amass 135-8 against Haslingden in a 31-over match.

Then the Sri Lankan turned on the style with the ball, taking 4-39 and Nick Westwell did the rest, taking 5-58, as Haslingden had little answer to Church's prolific pair.

James Hayhurst took 4-57 but East Lancs target of 175-7 - thanks to an unbeaten 53 from captain Paul Kelly - proved too much for Accrington.

Opener Mohsin Ahmed (34), pro Tama Canning (33) and lower order batsman Richard Burrows (29) battled to make the fightback but the rest of the order couldn't get the runs and they fell 34-runs short.
