TWO of Hyndburn Athletic Club's stars will be at Blackburn Rovers on Friday attending the Lancashire Sports Awards.

Middle distance runner Leigh Lennon, 13, was crowned Hyndburn's Rising Star and could be crowned Lancashire' s Rising Star on Friday night.

The Witton Park pupil is the 11th fastest in the country over 3,000 metres.

She finished first in the Lancashire Championships for her age group and, in the Under 15 County Championships, was second in the 1,500m and third in the 3,000m.

And Stephen Sumner, 16, was Hyndburn's Volunteer of the Year and will be waiting to hear if he will win the Lancashire award at Ewood Park.

The Blackburn College student is a sprinter at Hyndburn AC but helps out at track and field events, multi-sports events and basically anywhere he can.
