ACCRINGTON Road Runner Sarah Ridehalgh can’t stop looking at the Flora London Marathon results after finishing as the 42nd lady overall on Sunday.

The 33-year-old crossed the line at the Mall in a staggering three hours and 47 seconds on a hot day in the capital.

"I couldn’t believe it," said Sarah. "I had suffered a couple of years ago in the heat and so I took the first half really steady.

"My best time was three hours and 13 minutes and I just wanted to beat that.

"But I upped the pace for the second half and just felt good all the way round. It’s amazing that I am 42nd lady and I can’t stop looking at the results.

"It was a weird feeling crossing the line as I was so close to going under three hours but I am really not that fussed!"

Sarah is having a rest now before trying to beat her half-marathon time of one hour 23 minutes this year.

Clayton-le-Moors Harrier Tracy Mitchell was 96th lady overall in London with a personal best of three hours and eight minutes.

Accrington Road Runner Jimmy Smithson completed his 86th marathon while Clayton-le-Moors Harrier Kitty Garnett, 71, finished her 39th marathon.
