ACCRINGTON man Aaron Hargreaves, of Blackburn Harriers, was the first across the line as Accrington Road Runners held their 21st annual 10k road race on Sunday.
His time of 31 minutes 34 seconds was six seconds ahead of second placed Ian Fisher, of Otley AC, as the two pulled well clear of the field. Leading lady was Jacqui Dews of Holmfirth Harriers, with a time of 41 minutes 10 seconds.
Nearly 400 athletes pounded the streets of Accrington, Huncoat, Altham, and Clayton-le-Moors, with all finishers receiving a memento of the day.
