Jesse Joronen is set to come straight into Stanley's starting line-up after arriving on loan from Fulham on Friday.

The 21-year-old Finnish goalkeeper has joined the Reds from the Championship outfit for a month.

Joronen started the season in goal for Fulham following their relegation from the Premier League, making his first four first-team appearances.

But he has since lost his place to Marcus Bettinelli, who spent last season on loan with Stanley, winning the club's young player of the year award.

Joronen, who was handed a surprise senior cap for Finland in January 2013, was brought in by Reds' boss John Coleman after Aaron Chapman suffered an ankle injury during last week's 2-1 home defeat by Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 24-year-old, who joined on a two-month loan from Chesterfield towards the end of last month, saw a specialist this week and could be sidelined for the rest of his loan spell.

Joronen is eligible for Saturday's game, when the Reds will renew acquaintances with Stevenage at Broadhall Way.

The two sides were non-league rivals before both managed to win promotion to League Two.

And after the Boro followed Stanley up, they met again in the 2010/11 play-offs.

With Stevenage holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg, the Reds had both Joe Jacobson and Sean McConville sent off before losing the home leg 1-0.

Stevenage went on to beat Torquay in the final to make it back-to-back promotions but came back down last term after three years in League One.

They are currently 19th having won just one of their last five, but before losing to Luton a fortnight ago, they had won their previous two at home. Midfielder Chris Whelpdale is their top scorer with four goals.

Stanley's top scorer James Gray could start after coming off the bench last week having completed his three-match suspension. The Reds remain without defenders Adam Buxton and Michael Liddle through injury, though.
