The owner of a wedding cars business has passed away, aged 79.

John Donald Cross died on Monday, January 25 at Clitheroe Community Hospital.

John was the owner and driver of Regency Wedding Cars. He had also worked at Norweb, Potts road repairers, Harris Lebus Furniture and Jack Robinson and Sons property repairers. John completed his national service in the Border Regiment.

He was a member of The Beauford Owners Club and life member of Leisure Hour Working Men’s Club. His hobbies and interests included cricket and football as well as sport in general. He also had an interest in property repairing and renovating.

The beloved husband and soulmate of Elizabeth, he was loving father of Marie and Ian, treasured grandfather of Louise, father-in-law of Bob, Andy and Sam, brother of Doreen and the late Brian and Marlene Ann, brother-in-law of Joan, Robert, Leonard and the late Barry, and respected and loved by his nieces, nephews and many friends.

His funeral will take place on Friday, February 5 with Requiem service at St Hubert’s Church, Great Harwood at 10.30am followed by a cremation at Pleasington Crematorium at 12.15pm officiated by Father Heakin.
