Cases heard at Blackburn Magistrates Court:

  • Patricia Elizabeth Cherry, 68, of Whitewell Road, Accrington, pleaded guilty to drink driving. She was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 20 months, reduced by 20 weeks if she completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
  • James Andrew Nelson, 20, of George Street, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to drink driving, using a car without insurance and driving without a licence. He was fined £140, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 15 months, reduced by 15 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
  • Mark Anthony Oldham, 32, of Oakfield Avenue, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was fined £300, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 14 months, reduced by 14 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
  • Stephen Barton, 26, of Commercial Street, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to harassment. He was jailed for 26 weeks and given a three-year restraining order.
  • Jeffrey Janssen, 29, of Spruce Court, Huncoat, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled drug. He was fined £250, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
  • Carl Stuart Taylor, 33, of Lord Street, Rishton, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, dangerous driving, taking a van without the owner’s consent and using a van without insurance. He was jailed for 20 weeks and disqualified from driving for two years.
  • Jesse Anthony Volkert, 24, of Earl Street, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to damaging a police CSI vehicle without lawful excuse, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was given a 13-week jail sentence, suspended for 24 months, with a supervision requirement, 12-week curfew order and ordered to pay £200 compensation and £85 costs.
  • Kristian Jordan Keenan, 24, of Empress Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to two counts of concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing monies by allowing them to be paid into and then withdrawn from his bank account. He was given a 12-month community order with a 12-week curfew requirement and ordered to pay £85 costs.
  • Richard James Ray, 36, of Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to three counts of concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing monies by allowing them to be paid into and then withdrawn from his bank account. He was given an 18-week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months, with 150 hours’ unpaid work.
  • William Burling, 28, of Stanhill Lane, Oswaldtwistle, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.
  • Laura Everett, 30, of Garden Street, Oswaldtwistle, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.
  • Shelly Nickerson, 33, of John Street, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs.
  • Sara Rigby, 28, of Mercer Street, Great Harwood, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.
  • Garry Steven Shaw, 34, of Dill Hall Lane, Church, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.
  • Emily Whitehead, 37, of The Grove, Oswaldtwistle, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.
  • David Kendall, 21, of Mercer Street, Great Harwood, was found guilty of assault by beating and pleaded guilty to another assault. He was given a 12-month community order with 80 hours’ unpaid work, ordered to pay £75 compensation and £250 costs.
  • Christopher Bavington, 61, of Spring Hill Road, Accrington, was found guilty of having a knife on
    Union Road in Oswaldtwistle without lawful excuse. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £100 costs.

  • Paul Richard Starkie, 52, of Ashley Court, Accrington, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 20 months, reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
  • Suntantar Ram, 45, of West Crescent, Accrington, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention. He was fined £40, ordered to pay £85 costs and given three points on his driving licence.
  • Daniel Lee Kenyon, 28, of Bold Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
