A couple who met dancing are celebrating 60 years of marriage.

Jimmy and Jenny Robertshaw, of Manor Brook, Accrington, were due to celebrate their Diamond Wedding anniversary on June 18.

The pair met while out dancing in Accrington and were married at All Saints Church in Clayton-le-Moors.

Jimmy worked as a baker for 30 years at William Moseley’s bakery in town and then at Holland’s Pies in Baxenden.

Jenny worked at Ewbank before spending over 25 years as a domestic at Accrington and Rossendale College.

The couple who have sons David and Raymond, and four grandchildren, enjoy spending time with their family and have enjoyed many holidays with Tunisia and Benidorm among their favourite destinations.

Jimmy enjoys snooker and bowling and is a member of Oak Hill Veterans while Jenny attends Plantation Street community centre.

Their recipe for a long and happy marriage is: “Allow give and take and never sleep on a argument.”

They will celebrate their anniversary at The Peel Park Hotel with donations in lieu of gifts for Macmillan cancer nurses.
