Accrington Cricket Club will be lit up at Hyndburn’s popular annual bonfire night.

A dramatic firework display and bonfire will be held at Accrington Cricket ground on Saturday, November 7 in celebration of Guy Fawkes Day.

The popular event is organised by the three local Hyndburn Rotary clubs, Accrington, Church and Oswaldtwistle, Great Harwood and Rishton.

This year the proceeds will go to the four local cadet forces that provide help to the Rotary clubs throughout the year: the Sea Cadets, the Army Cadets, the Royal Air Force Cadets and the Volunteer Police Cadets.

The gates will open at 6.30pm and the bonfire will be lit at 7pm.

Admission at the gate will be £3 for adults and £2 for children.

However organisers are asking people to purchase discounted advance tickets from local establishments, including Accrington Cricket Club to help avoid entry delays.

Advance tickets are 50p cheaper than at the gate.

Organiser Ken Freeman said: “All three local Rotary clubs are pleased to join together to put on this special event which draws in such a large attendance and provides funds for worthwhile charities.”
