This week’s Time-trip features pub-goers a carnival queen and an 18th birthday celebration in the mid 2000s.

Each week we will publish a set of pictures taken by our photographers which appeared in the paper in the last decade.

The pictures appear first on our website and are then reprinted in the paper.

This week our photos show Spring Hill Primary School head Stephanie Grimshaw with former school inspector turned author Gervaise Phinn, who officially opened the Accrington school, and locals enjoying their night out at The Bridge Inn and Black Dog Pub, Accrington.

There is also a shot of Hyndburn Mayor Miles Parkinson opening the Women’s Centre, Accrington.

Co-ordinator Sue Clarke held the cake for the Mayor to cut watched by staff and volunteers.

If you have any pictures you would like us to feature in the column, please send them into us at communities@menmedia.co.uk or via the Accrington Observer Facebook page.
