A bargain superstore will be opening the doors of its second branch in Accrington next month.

B&M, which is set to take over the site of the current Homebase store, will officially open to the public on Wednesday, April 22.

A spokesman for the company said they do not yet have confirmation on how many jobs will be created.

The announcement by the retailer to open a second store at the site on Hyndburn Road came after the announcement that Homebase was to shut its doors on February 21.

The bargain store announced in January that they would be refurbishing the store inside and out before opening and that staff who had been made redundant from Homebase would be offered interviews at the new branch.

B&M, which already has a shop on Union Street in Accrington, is also launching a competition in its search for a local hero to be a VIP for the day and officially open the new store and cut the ribbon, as well as raise funds for good causes.
