An inquest has been opened after a nurse was found dead at her home.

Dawn Appleby, 46, of Bridge Houses, Baxenden, was found by her husband Paul on October 24, Blackburn Coroners Court heard.

Police and paramedics were called to the address and she was pronounced dead.

The inquest was adjourned pending post mortem results for a full hearing on January 26.

Mrs Dawn Appleby, of Sweet Clough View, Bridgehouses, Baxenden, died on Saturday, October 24, aged 46.

She was a nurse for the NHS for 27 years, working at Prestwich, Rossendale, Burnley and Manchester.

Dawn was a dearly loved daughter of Ann, sister to Julie and a much loved wife of Paul. She enjoyed a full life, cooking, walking, holidays and socialising.

Dawn was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her close family, friends and work colleagues. God bless beautiful girl.

A funeral service was due to be held at St John’s Church in Baxenden at 2pm on Thursday, November 5, officiated by Rev Tom Donaghey followed by a cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 3pm.

Family flowers only.
