This week, a Valentine’s charity ball with local dignitaries, carnival queens and a woman dressed as a whoopee cushion feature in our Time-trip column.
We publish a set of pictures each week which were taken by our photographers and appeared in the paper in the 2000s.
The pictures appear first on our website and are then reprinted in the paper.
This week our photographs show Louise Ashton at her 30th birthday party at Accrington’s Brooks Club, and Hyndburn mayor and mayoress Miles and Bernadette Parkinson with guests at their Valentine’s charity ball in Accrington Town Hall.
They also show carnival queen contestants - the belles of St Christopher’s High School and the Accrington Carnival Queen Contest final.
The photographs were all taken in the early 2000s.
