High street businesses in Oswaldtwistle are set to be boosted with a cash injection from the Mary Portas scheme.
Businesses have come together to form a Town Team to try and promote Oswaldtwistle, attract more shoppers and entice new firms into the area.
The campaign is part of a number of initiatives being championed by Civic Arts Centre director Gayle Knight after £10,000 of funding was awarded through the Portas Pilot scheme.
Gayle said: “Oswaldtwistle is a hub of activity and you can find everything you need on your doorstep.
“We have cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants as well as bakeries, butchers, boutiques, hair dressers and beauty salons.
“Specialist businesses include an equestrian equipment store, furniture emporium, electrical repair shop, estate agents, funeral directors and much more.
“Our research showed that 60 per cent of Oswaldtwistle businesses wanted to work together to promote our fantastic town so an interactive flyer is one of many ways we’ll be doing this.”
Marketing agency Scott Dawson Advertising has been tasked with designing and producing an innovative flyer to promote Union Road's shops, businesses and leisure outlets along with the town's history.
A series of promotional films will be included in the document.
Funding from the Portas Pilot scheme has been boosted by local businesses who have agreed to pay a small fee to be included in the flyer.
It will be distributed to thousands of households across Hyndburn next month.
The official public launch of the initiative and leaflet will take place at the Civic Arts Centre on Saturday, May 25 between 2pm and 4pm.
It will coincide with the Let's Talk Shop, an exhibition of old and new photos of Oswaldtwistle, along with performances from young people and Oswaldtwistle's 'canary' Miss Sylvia Kendal.
The new Mayor of Hyndburn Judith Addison will also be in attendance.
