Detectives have released CCTV images of three men they want to speak to after a man was robbed at an ATM cash machine.

The 25-year-old victim, from Clayton-le-Moors, was withdrawing cash at Yorkshire Bank on St James Street when he was attacked by three men.

They punched him to the ground before stealing his mobile phone, wallet and money but he wasn't seriously hurt.

The men then ran off towards Edgar Street before eventually getting a taxi in the town centre.

Police said the taxi took them to Haslingden Road in Blackburn where they got out and ran off without paying.

The incident happened at around 6am on New Years Day and police are appealing for witnesses and information.

DC Dan Perkins said: “This was a nasty, unprovoked incident and we are keen to find the people responsible.

“If anybody witnessed this robbery or has any information which could help please contact police.

“In particular, I am keen to speak with anybody who recognises any of the men on the CCTV images.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
