A community clear up day has been held in the town centre to remove chewing gum from footpaths.

The Spring Clean was part of a national campaign aimed at ‘sprucing up’ the county’s high streets, residential and business areas, villages and parks.

Coun Paul Cox, cabinet member for the environment, said staff will also be ‘out and about’ across the borough each morning in the next few weeks to remove more chewing gum.
