Members of Rosebank Community Garden in Clayton-le-Moors have learned how to create a willow wigwam.

The event was held at the Prospects Environment Centre on Broadway in Accrington and organised by community food growing coordinator Julie Livesey.

She said: “It was amazing what the ladies created in just a few hours and everyone left with a willow wigwam to take home or to their community project.”

The event was organised for Rosebank Community Garden volunteers who will use their skills to create more features for their community garden near the canal in Clayton-le-Moors.

Julie said she is also working with other community groups such as The Women’s Centre who want to give willow weaving a try.
