A club stalwart has decided to retire after 28 years' service as secretary.

Mrs Barbara Gee, of the Christ Church area of, Accrington, served Accrington Masonic Fellowship for nearly three decades.

Barbara and her late husband Reg had only been in the Fellowship for six months

before being asked to take over the role of secretary and chairman in 1985.

Reg passed away in 2002, leaving Barbara to continue the sterling work they

both started. Barbara still intends to carry on supporting the Fellowship in every way possible.

Barbara, 91, thanked everyone who has contributed to the success of the Fellowship during this time and hopes that it will continue to thrive.

The Fellowship is an organisation to enhance the social life of its members and has regular guest speakers of all types. It meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Masonic Hall at Mill House, Clayton-le- Moors, at 1.30pm.
