An ‘outstanding’ Accrington college is celebrating after being recognised with a national award.
Accrington and Rossendale College was named Outstanding BTEC School or College of the Year at the annual National BTEC Awards at London’s Royal Horticultural Halls.
The awards, which are now in their fifth year, celebrate achievement in vocational education. For this year’s event, which were hosted by comedian Rob Beckett, over 800 nominations were made in 20 categories.
Accrington and Rossendale College, which is rated as one of the top Further Education colleges in the country in terms of student achievement, offers BTEC qualifications in over 25 subjects, including business, childcare and sport, alongside a number of A Level courses.
Becky Tootell, the college’s Director of Quality, said: “This award is testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff and our students. Accrington and Rossendale College has a strong commitment to supporting all our learners to become the best that they can be. Our mission is to raise access, aspiration and achievement.”
