A man found dead on Accrington railway lines has been named.
British Transport Police halted services across East Lancashire after discovering a body on tracks near Queens Road at lunchtime on Saturday, August 17.
The man has been named as Andrew Burgess, of Manor Street.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Officers attended, alongside colleagues from Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Regional Ambulance Service and discovered the body of a 36-year-old local man who, it is believed, had fallen from a nearby bridge.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and officers will now assist in the compilation of a report for the coroner.”
An inquest into Mr Burgess' death was due to be opened on Thursday, August 22.
