A hospice appeal has been launched at a Clayton-le-Moors funeral home.
The gardens at East Lancashire Hospice will be transformed into a sea of sunflowers, all bearing the name of loved ones.
The annual Sunflower Appeal was launched at Champs Funeral Services on Whalley Road and allows anyone who misses a loved one to make a donation to have a wooden sunflower dedicated to their friend or family member.
Hospice events fundraiser Denise Gee said: “On the day of the special service (June 27) we hold, many families come to remember a loved one and collect their sunflower to take home.
“It’s a time for loved ones to remember that special person and by doing that they are supporting the hospice, allowing us to care for families today and in the future.
“Champs Funeral Services were so touched by their visit to the hospice that they wanted to be involved and the sunflower event is a perfect addition to their window display where it can be seen by the thousands of people who must pass through Clayton-le-Moors.”
Suggested donations begin at £5 per name and can be made via the hospice or by calling 01254 733410.
