Crews were called to Paynter Close after a tumble dryer caught fire

Firefighters have tackled a tumble dryer blaze inside a house.

Two fire engines and crews from Hyndburn were called to a property on Paynter Close in Clayton-le-Moors and found the tumble dryer on fire in the utility room.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: “Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet to put the fire out.

“There were no casualties.”

The incident happened at around 11.45am on Saturday, April 16.
