Firefighters had to cut through a false ceiling after a halogen light caught fire.

Two crews from Hyndburn attended a house on Park Street in Accrington after the occupier spotted a smouldering fire in a false ceiling over the bathroom.

They spent two hours cutting through the ceiling to access the light and the fire caused damage to a ceiling joist and the loft area.

The incident happened at 6.40pm on Thursday, May 7 and no injuries were reported.
