Four people have been injured in ‘serious’ collision which caused Grane Road to be blocked off this afternoon.

Police say a white Seat Ibiza and a grey Peugeot were involved in the collision on Elton Road, by the Grey Mare Inn in Belthorn, at around 2pm on Tuesday, October 24.

An air ambulance, the ambulance service and fire service were also called to the incident.

A road block was put in place on Grane Road by the Holden Arms in Haslingden but will be removed when the road is cleared.

A Lancashire police spokesman said: “We were called just after 2pm today to reports of a serious injury road traffic collision.

“There were two casualties in each vehicle. The passenger in the Seat Ibiza had a leg injury and the drive had back pain.

“There were no life-threatening injuries. It’s ongoing at the moment in terms of clearing up.”
