The community lined the streets this week to pay tribute to a ‘grandma of the community’.
Residents of Clayton-le-Moors turned out on Barnes Street to bid farewell to community stalwart Kathlyn Lambert.
Affectionately known as ‘Grandma Lambert’ around Clayton, Kathlyn was a tireless childminder in the area who ‘lived for kids’.
The mum of two, grandma of six, great-grandma of nine and great, great-grandma of four volunteered at a munitions factory during the Second World War and worked in the Jolly Wash launderette for many years.
Kathlyn, 99, passed away at Hope House Nursing Home on May 11 and a service was held at Accrington Crematorium on May 20.
