A pensioner was airlifted to hospital after suffering a fall.
The North West Air Ambulance landed at the playing fields off Burnley Road in Clayton-le-Moors near to Gordon Street at around 3.40pm on Friday, September 18.
A spokesman said the man in his 70s had suffered a fall and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
Gary Hough, who lives in the area, said: “We saw the helicopter coming over really low and when I got to the playing fields it looked as though there was no incident.
“Our first thought was something had happened in the park or on the main road but when we got there it was almost as if they just landed it to check the helicopter over.
“We then saw one of the crew run towards one of the houses on Burnley Road and the man was brought from the house to the park by ambulance staff and was loaded into the air ambulance.”
An air ambluance spokesman was unable to confirm the extent of his injuries.
