Hollins Technology College are celebrating after achieving the joint highest results in the schools history.

Headteacher Steve Campbell said: “We are absolutely delighted with our outstanding GCSE results and even more thrilled for our students, parents and staff who have worked so hard to gain these results.

“We achieved 70 per cent five A* to C grades including English and maths, the joint highest in the school’s history.

“It is a credit to everyone at The Hollins that we have continued to produce excellent results despite the constant changes to the exam system and performance tables and shows how well our staff have adapted to ensure success for the students.

“Eighty-three pre cent of students gained grades A* to C in English while 75 per cent achieved these grades in maths.

“Progress in these subjects was also excellent with 87 per cent making at least expected progress in English and 78 per cent in maths.

“Fifty-one per cent of students made more than expected progress in English and 36 per cent achieved this in maths.

“Outstanding individual performances came from Amy Maden who gained six A*s and four As; Becky Gregson who achieved six A*s, three As and a B; Aiden Hargreaves with five A*s, four As and a B; Ella Aldred-Aymen with four A*s and six As; George Polvani with three A*s and seven As and Sofie Williams with three A*s and seven As.”
