A charity which supports homeless people in Accrington has secured a £128,000 grant.
The M3 Project, which works across Hyndburn, Burnley, Pendle, the Ribble Valley and Rossendale, will use the Lancashire County Council grant for its supported lodgings project.
Project manager Alan Dorrington said: “This year we had to bid for the grant from Lancashire County Council’s Supporting People Team and so we were very pleased to have been able to secure £128,000.
"This will provide two years of funding for 13 placements for young people in our supported lodgings project.
“It is important that young people across East Lancashire have this service available at a time when accommodation in social housing sector and private landlords is becoming even harder to access.”
In December the charity launched its sponsor a room scheme by asking people to donate money on a regular basis to support the work of M3. One anonymous donor generously gave £5,000 to the charity.
Alan added: “We are very grateful for all the donations we have received, both large and small.”
