Eight dedicated members of staff at the Dunkenhagh Hotel have celebrated a total of 170 years’ service at a glittering Black Tie Ball.

The team members joined Ivan Lynch, the hotels general manager, at the Lancashire Business Awards where the Clayton-le-Moors hotel was nominated as Hotel of the Year and the ceremony was attended by 270 guests.

Ivan said: “‘We take great pride in the fact we retain so many of our team members, it shows what a great place the hotel is to work at.

“With 140 staff employed at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa, over eight per cent have a minimum of 15 years’ service. Add a further 22 staff members to that who have between 10-15 years served across all departments of the Hotel, this is a terrific feat, given the service industry is renowned for having high staff turnover levels.”

The eight staff work across the kitchen, leisure club, reservations and front of house.

Reservations manager Andrea Healy, who is the hotels longest serving employee with 24 years’ service, said: “It was a fantastic evening and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

“It was lovely to be invited to the event and recognised for our service to the hotel.”
