Cases heard at Blackburn Magistrates Court:

Nigel Leech, 48, of Springhill Road, Accrington, pleaded guilty to stealing lighting, ornaments and a clock from Oswaldtwistle Mills worth £194.88. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Richard Anthony Whittaker, 41, of Spindle Berry Court, Accrington, pleaded guilty to stealing Epson ink cartridges from Wilkinsons worth £44. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.

Jason Lee Barbour, 44, of Juniper Court, Huncoat, pleaded guilty to stealing two ladies jackets from Marks and Spencers worth £120 while subject to a conditional discharge order. He was fined £80.

Joseph James Ridsdale, 18, of Ribblesdale Avenue, Accrington, pleaded guilty to driving without a licence driving without insurance, taking a car without the owners consent and failing to stop after an accident. He was given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months with a supervision requirement, 40-day rehabilitation activity requirement, ordered to pay £50 compensation and costs of £85, and banned from driving for two years.

John Lomax, 40, of Washington Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to stealing electric razors worth £30 from Tesco. He was fined £50.

Emma Jade Aspden, 27, of Bridge Street, Rishton, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

Nicola J Dullard, 37, of Washington Street, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

John Edmundson, 59, of Clement Street, Accrington, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

Carol Johnstone, 48, of Hopwood Street, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

Kelly Newton, 33, of Fern Gore Avenue, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

Joanne Nield, 42, of Nuttall Street, Mews, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

Sarah Pickford, 40, of Shelley Gardens, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

Jade Soloniewicz, 25, of Wellington Court, Accrington, pleaded guilty to using a TV without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

Geoff Wilson, 42, of Lion Street, Church, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

James Andrew French, 27, of Claremont Road, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the requirements of a community order. The order was varied to include an extra two months on his alcohol treatment requirement.

Benjamin Hargreaves, 19, of Belfield Road, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the requirements of a youth rehabilitation order and the community requirement of a suspended sentence order. He was given an 18-week jail sentence suspended for 12 months.

Sheena Michele Bibby, 44, of Charter Street, Accrington, was found guilty of stealing a purse and contents worth £250. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £250 compensation and £120 costs.

David Robert Emmett, 28, of Church Street, Church, pleaded guilty to theft from Sheths Bathroom and Plumbing Centre in Blackburn. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

Paul James Birtwell, 24, of Ashley Court, Accrington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He must pay £200 compensation and £85 costs.

Mark Anthony Hartley, 29, of The Cooperage, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was fined £250 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

Daniel Charles Conroy Doherty, 18, of Willows Lane, Accrington, pleaded guilty to theft from Farmfoods while subject to a conditional discharge order. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £5 compensation and £45 costs.

Christopher Hindle, 24, of Silverdale Close, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to breaching the peace. He was bound over in the sum of £100 for six months to keep the peace.

Georgina Carter, 29, of Walmsley Close, Church, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

Kenneth Mitchel, 56, of Wilfred Street, Accrington, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.
