Members of the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Police Cadets have signed up to take part in the annual Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle charity walk.

The cadets, who were named Best Group at the 2015 annual Lancashire Youth competition, will join in the 10k walk on Sunday, May 17, which starts at the business centre at Junction 7 opposite the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors.

The not-for-profit volunteer scheme is made up of youngsters aged 13 to 18 and the cadets have previously assisted with the Rotary bonfire and Christmas lights switch-on last year, and completed more than 1,000 hours of volunteering.

This will be the 10th consecutive walk that the Rotary club of Church and Oswaldtwistle have held, which has raised around £425,000 for various charities and good causes.

The 10K walk will start at 9.30am and on the day there will also be a 5k walk and a 5K fun run.

Other attractions include a football game, dog competition and tombola stall, and also musical entertainment

To register for either of the walks or for the 5k fun run you can visit www.rotarywalk.wordpress.com or alternatively call Stuart Duhan on 01254 433501.
