An investigation has been launched after tyres were deliberately torched near the old power station in Huncoat.

Firefighters were called to scrubland off Altham Lane at 5.15am on Tuesday, July 26 and used aquapacks to put out the fire.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “When crews arrived they found the fire involved a small quantity of road tyres.

“Firefighters believe the fire was started deliberately and an investigation is now underway.”
