Past winners from the Hyndburn Sports Awards are urging people to get voting and nominate their sporting heroes, with just over three weeks to go until the closing date for nominations.

Lucy Hamlin, from Spring into Action, said they were thrilled to win the award last year.

She said: “Everybody was really delighted with the award and we hope to be nominated again.”

Nominations are now open and categories include; Adult Volunteer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Community Club of The Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Primary School of The Year, Secondary School of The Year, Inspire Award, Service to Disability Sport and Team of The Year.

Nominations for the Sports Awards close on June 20.

Hyndburn Leisure Trust, who organise the awards are also looking for sponsors to help make the non-profit event a success.

This year The Accrington Observer will this year be sponsoring the Lifetime Achievement award.
