ACCRINGTON Stanley have already raised £10,000 as they aim to reach £300,000 to pay off their tax bill and avoid the club being wound up in two months time.

The Reds launched a bid to save the club on Friday and have been overcome with financial offers.

They have had a one-off donation of £5,000 while a bucket collection in Accrington town centre and at Bury FC on Saturday afternoon raised £3,500.

A florist in Accrington gave a bag of change he was going to bank while a man handed over £100 to the club over the counter.

The Reds are hoping for a bumper pay-day when they face Burnley in a fundraising friendly at Turf Moor tomorrow (Tuesday) where David Nugent is set to make his Clarets debut. This match is just waiting confirmation from the Premier League which is expected this morning (Monday).

There have also been donations through the web-site www.saveourstanley.co.uk as well as fans of other clubs texting "Accrington" to 80777 to donate £5 and "Stanley" to 79988 to donate £10.
